Kris Healey has now begun work for Ashton Macey Kent as Service Manager. He comes with a wealth of experience in a range of fields including social care management and recruitment. His move came from the closing of a local rival and his arrival has seen an influx of new staff and clients.

Following the transformation of Adult Social Care Services ‘personal budgets’ are now being introduced for those in need of care and support throughout Leicestershire.
Initially this may not support all service users but there are some clear examples of how giving purchasing power back to the service user results in increased individualisation and better outcomes.
For those client’s interested in getting a ‘personal budget’ from social services can contact their social worker for more advice.

At Ashton Macey we always keep to high recruitment standards. All new staff member are hired subject to two references, one always from their most recent employer, as well as a full CRB check. They are all given specific induction training and all moving and handling certificates are updated annually. Ashton Macey continue to excel in the training given to all staff. As well as their annual mandatory, basic skills update, all staff are given the opportunity to brush up their skills in areas such as: Dementia Awareness, Medications, Promotion of Continence and Pressure Sores, Infection Control and many more.
All courses are carried out by qualified training personnel and all staff are issued with a certificate to confirm they have passed the course.

It is now compulsory for all Care Assistants to hold an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care to meet the Domiciliary Care Standards.
